Electricity Dataflow Management System

Electricity Dataflow Management System

REGMAN: Electricity supply dataflow communication tool

The electricity supply industry communicates by a series of dataflows, and these are sent and received by the market messaging systems each electricity supplier chooses to purchase. These market messaging systems have varying degrees of validation, and some electricity industry flows are created and sent manually, opening them up to human error.

Registration Manager (REGMAN) is Dyball Associates’ energy industry software used as a data flow management system for the electricity supply market.

What is an electricity dataflow management system?

A dataflow management system sends, receives and validates all inbound and outbound flow communications, ensuring data flow integrity is maintained. Invalid inbound flows are captured and quarantined for electricity suppliers to address with the sender, and validated flows are imported and maintained within the data flow system.

REGMAN manages events by exception, meaning that registration processes are seamless until an unexpected event occurs. The electricity registration system follows industry mandated processes, and understands the next required data flow communication action, as these are automated by the system without human interaction.

When an expected response is not received, or an unexpected event occurs, the electricity registration system raises a workflow event. These events are managed via daily worklists by either our dedicated managed services team, or by your own internal operational staff.

REGMAN was created by Dyball Associates in 1998, and was the first registration system to incorporate data quality processes into market messaging. This system receives the lowest possible risk rating from ELEXON during electricity qualification processes, and has been successfully used in achieving qualification of over 30 electricity supply licences.

REGMAN is versatile in its design, and the same system and code base services all our electricity supply clients, regardless of their chosen market. Dyball Associates’ clients that use combinations of domestic, SME and I&C supply points can efficiently manage all customer data flow communications through one system.

An electricity dataflow market messaging system is essential to a supply business. It is impossible to achieve electricity market qualification without one. Using the REGMAN system guarantees your business starts on the right foundation of compliance within the industry.
