Project Nexus New Settlement Classes

Paul Fox • Jul 29, 2018

What is Project Nexus?

Project Nexus is the replacement of the existing UK link system which has been administered by Xoserve and was introduced in June 2017. The system is used for meter administration, energy settlement and other services within the UK gas market.

In order for non-daily metered (NDM) and daily metered (DM) supply types to be settled more accurately four new settlement classes have been introduced:

Class 1 – Used for all meter points with a rolling AQ of over 58,600 mWh’s. Xoserve require meter reads by 11am of the day following the day of gas consumption.

Class 2 – Used for meter points with a rolling AQ of under 58,600 mWh’s . Xoserve require meter reads within 24 hours following the day of gas consumption.

Class 3 – Used for meter points with a rolling AQ of under 58,600 mWh’s . Xoserve require meter reads for each day but they can be batched up and issued weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

Class 4 – Used for meter points with a rolling AQ of under 58,600 mWh’s . Xoserve require meter reads either monthly or annually depending on the size of the rolling AQ. You cannot send more than two meter reads in any rolling 24 day period.
