Get Connected with Dyball Associates DCC Adapter

Richard Simmonds • Aug 20, 2020

Dyball Associates is pleased to announce that its suite of energy industry software now includes an approved SaaS DCC adapter that allows full communication with the end consumers’ smart meters and the Data Communications Company (DCC).

What is a DCC Adapter?

A DCC Adapter allows an energy supplier to connect  and communicate with the DCC and its smart meter network.

Dyball’s DCC adapter has been built from the ground up by our IT experts and is designed to simplify and minimise the level of IT development to an energy company’s own internal systems. This is a simpler,  more efficient way to be smart meter ready and start rolling out faster.

All new energy suppliers have to be a DCC user in order to successfully exit Controlled Market Entry (CME).

To start supplying, new energy market entrants need to undergo a stringent qualification process with Ofgem and Elexon. Dyball Associates provides expert energy market consultancy services to energy suppliers across the UK. For guidance on market entry, CME and DCC compliance contact our experts.

How it works

In order to operate Smart Meters, energy suppliers have to connect to the infrastructure provided by the DCC.

This requires significant capital investment which may prove challenging to market participants.

Our DCC Adapter enables energy suppliers, network operators and other users to integrate their IT systems seamlessly with the DCC.

Thanks to the expertise of our IT team we’ve built a bespoke DCC Adaptor in house. This has provided Dyball Associates with a unique and thorough understanding of the DCC processes, allowing us to highlight and remedy any pitfalls that energy suppliers may encounter.

All it all works

An all in one solution

Dyball Associates DCC Adapter integrates seamlessly with our other SAAS services, including our own energy billing software and CRM system. This allows for a smooth automation of many day-to-day processes and our Business Orchestration layer (BOL).

Thanks to our accredited testing, any company aiming to enter the energy supply market will find it far easier to do so. Dyball Associates can minimise the downtime to receive your industry qualifications and get your energy supply business approved faster than by taking other routes to market.

Our shared services are a turnkey solution that offer a low-risk and cost-effective option for users, allowing us to host and operate a wide range of DCC services on the customers’ behalf.

“We understand that integrating with the DCC is a complicated and confusing process. Many suppliers have purchased off the shelf DCC Adapters and are left with completely manual processes to manage their smart meter portfolio. We have developed our DCC Adapter with automation in mind. The Dyball DCC Adapter integrates seamlessly with our CRM, Regman and Gasman systems to automate all the key processes (eg change of supply) so the supplier doesn’t have to worry about anything other than exceptions,” said Steve Wathen, Dyball’s Head of IT.
